OFFICERS REPORTS

Secretary Report – Renee G

Read the February report. The report was accepted with corrections.

First Alt DCMC – Dan M

Attended the recent NERSA event. The 5th edition of the Big Book will include 26 new stories and a new preface; there are no changes to the core 164 pages to preserve the principles for the next generations. Groups of 2–3 people can form a meeting through a group conscience.

Second Alt DCMC – Matt C

Reported that ours is the only district with two alternates and there are no major updates. He is part of the ad hoc committee with counties across NY discussing the requirements of SENY. The committee is close to finalizing the requirements and will then present a survey for possible locations in Nassau County that are wheelchair accessible and have the infrastructure for hybrid meetings and are easy to locate. They are on track to make a recommendation for the June SENY Conference.

Treasurer Report – Michael S

February Treasurer report

Assistant Treasurer – Sonyea G

13 groups donated in February totaling $2,572.50, which was deposited on March 5. Letters were sent out.

DCMC Report – JR B

Attended the SENY Delegates’ Day of Sharing. It was well presented, and all questions were thoroughly explained by the individuals who presented.Attended the NERASSA Convention. I must start by saying that Area 49 will have its hands full trying to top the 2026 convention. There were many interesting panels and roundtables.

Welcomed new GSRs and alternates.

Kevin (Districts 201, 212)

First cluster meeting was February 25 from 7:30–8:30 PM.

A few DCMs, alternates, and GSRs attended. He also attended the Assembly via Zoom.

Next cluster meeting: April 7, where the Agenda Questionnaire will be discussed.

He will create a contact list with telephone numbers and emails.

David (Districts 204, 205, 206)

Confirmed 4 GSRs among more than 20 groups in the district. Efforts to invigorate the district are ongoing.

Thanked Dean and David C for assisting him as a new DCM.

Looking for active GSRs and stressed the importance of having a GSR.

Will sit with Dean to shadow how he runs meetings.

Idea for workshop: take a trip to GSO, have lunch, and have a guided review of manuscripts including “The Fear of the Lie.”

Manny Hispanic Group DCM for District 214.

Attended the SENY Delegates Day of Sharing at Westchester Community College. The meeting was very helpful and informative regarding the questionnaire. I was able to return to the district and answer questions, as well as provide background information from the study session held at our district meeting. I used that information to inform groups we visited that do not have a GSR. The Hispanic Groups Assembly was held on Sunday, March 15, in Middletown. The meeting went well, and there is not much new to report at this time.

The planning committees for the June Share Day and the Hispanic Convention are working hard to spread the word and gather member and group contributions for these events. At the district and community level, there is not much activity beyond distributing the questionnaire to groups.

sold three tickets to the Unity Breakfast, and a couple of people mentioned they plan to purchase tickets soon.

Clarification from SENY Chair Rog addressed a rumor about using the SENY sound system.

A Queens GSR is willing to donate microphones and speakers to Nassau. If interested, notify Jerry and he will send the specs. Another member is willing to review the specs and provide professional expertise regarding the donated items. JR will follow up with Jerry.

A member suggested creating an exploratory committee to research all aspects of obtaining a sound system. Matt, Jerry, Haden, and Ross will begin discussions.
